Spiritual Life is Bringing New Things, Fall 2019
Take a look at some new options and familiar favorites, offered this fall. You are welcome to participate in our groups and discussions!
Sermon Preview Group: Wednesdays, 8:00-9:00 a.m., beginning September 4: This is an informal Bible conversation group led by Pastor Betsy in which we discuss together the passages for the upcoming worship service. No pre-reading or studying needed. We will simply read and discuss the passages on the spot.
Coffee with Jesus - Exploring our Questions about Faith, Life and Spirituality; 3rd Sunday of the Month, Library after worship. Join us as we continue on this faith-journey together, and strive to face the issues of the world with love and vulnerability. Carolyn Lucas facilitates this discussion and welcomes everyone to participate.
What We [think we] Believe – cracking open tenets of our faith: This monthly class, lead by Pastor Betsy, will explore some major themes of Christianity from various viewpoints. Questions, challenges and lively discussion welcome! Our first class is Sunday, September 22, 5-6:30 p.m. with the topic, Our [un]Changing God. See you then!
Grief Recovery Group, information meeting; Thursday, September 19 at 6:00 p.m.: Pastor Betsy will offer an 8-week Grief Recovery Group starting the first week in October. Come to the information meeting to see if it’s something you’re interested in.
Grief Recovery Group will be each Thursday, 6-8 p.m., from October 3-November 21 (the 5th week will take place on Wednesday instead). This group size is limited, and pre-registration with Pastor Betsy is required. **This is the only group through Spiritual Life that is a covenant and closed group with limited size.**
The Men’s Group will continue to meet regularly this year for breakfasts, barbecues, and fishing trips up north. Dave Vietti will once more serve as the facilitator and he’ll gladly let anyone who’s interested know of the events as they’re being planned. You can contact him at 517-339-5731 or at email@example.com to be included on the email list or to ask any questions.The HCC Men’s group sends out emails to announce their 8 am breakfast meetings at Blondies Barn in Haslett. Breakfasts include social time along with discussion and decisions about other group activities.
